Small Grant Assessment Criteria

The RCoA's small research, education and travel grants are assessed against the following criteria:

Research

Criterion 1: Appropriateness and importance at local, national and international level

  • There is a clear research question
  • The work is original
  • It is relevant to the NIAA vision

Criterion 2: Methodology

  • The aims and objectives are clear
  • The methodology is rigorous and justified

Criterion 3: Other

  • The timescale is appropriate
  • The amount of funding requested is justified

Travel/Education Grants

Criterion 1: Appropriateness and importance at local, national and international level

  • The proposal is important for personal development
  • The proposal is important for organisational gain
  • It is relevant to the NIAA vision

Criterion 2: Methodology

  • The aims and objectives are clear
  • There is evidence of planned dissemination

Criterion 3: Other

  • The timescale is appropriate
  • The amount of funding requested is justified
